LPC supervision in Texas
Most associates pick a supervisor on price and proximity, because that is what the listings show. You will spend eighteen months to three years with this one, and it is the stretch that sets how you practice afterwards. Interview more than one before you sign, and the Texas licensure guide lists the questions worth asking, whoever you end up choosing.
Reem Glasco has been a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor since 2016. Supervision is online and available anywhere in Texas, and includes three individual hours and one group hour each month. Places are capped deliberately, so ask about current availability. Equine-assisted sessions near Dripping Springs are optional, and EMDR consultation is free while you are an associate here.
Places are filled by application rather than inquiry: a CV, three professional references and written answers to seven questions, with verification before an agreement is signed.
In Reem's own words
What supervision here is like
Supervision is not a compliance meeting. It is the place you bring the session that went sideways, the client you think about on the drive home, and the parts of the work that are touching something of your own.
I work collaboratively, which means I expect you to show up prepared, be honest, and tell me when something goes wrong. In return you get someone who will help you build a practice, not just log hours: fee setting, caseload shape, online presence, referral relationships, and the ethics of all of it.
The clinical lens is trauma-informed and body-oriented. We will talk about the nervous system in the room, yours as much as the client's, and about transference and countertransference as information rather than error.
You will probably fit well here if
- You want developmental trauma and C-PTSD work to be a real part of your training.
- You are drawn to NARM, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, IFS-informed work or Brainspotting.
- You intend to build a private practice, now or eventually.
- You can tolerate direct feedback and want it.
- You are curious about experiential and body-based supervision, including work with horses.

What Texas requires of you
The Texas requirements are specific, and the part that trips people up is not the total hours. It is the floor on months, the split between direct and indirect, and the group supervision cap.
- 3,000 hours
- Supervised experience required for full LPC licensure
- 1,500 of them
- Must be direct client counseling contact
- 18 months
- The minimum, no matter how fast you accrue hours
- 4 hours a month
- Minimum supervision, with no more than half in a group
- 60 months
- When your LPC Associate license expires, without renewal
Beyond the required hours
EMDR consultation
Free individual EMDR consults while you are an associate here, and paid consultation toward certification once you are licensed.
Equine-assisted supervision
Optional in-person sessions with horses in Dripping Springs, for presence, self-connection and countertransference you can feel rather than theorize.
Ethics CEUs
The six ethics hours Texas asks for each renewal period, on secondary trauma. One online, or two in person on a trail walk among horses.
Mindful trail retreats
An annual retreat for interns, associates and licensed therapists. We walk, and we look at what gets in the way of being present.
How the four fit together
Why supervision, consultation, CEUs and retreats are one relationship rather than four purchases.
What trauma-informed supervision changes
What gets brought to the hour, what counts as clinical data, and why the pace of supervision matters as much as the content.
The Texas licensure guide
Every number on the LPC path, the supervision rules most associates get wrong, and what to ask a supervisor before you sign. Free, no email required.
What changes when you are licensed
Supervision is the only part of this with an end date. Here is what happens to the rest of it on the day the Council grants your LPC.
- Supervision
- Ends, and the monthly fee ends with it. There is nothing further to pay and nothing further to file.
- EMDR consultation
- Goes from free to $185 an hour, and keeps counting toward EMDRIA certification if that is still in progress. The consultant is already the person who knows your caseload.
- Ethics hours
- Become a recurring obligation rather than an occasional one: 24 CE hours each renewal period, six of them ethics, and at least half from a provider listed in 22 TAC §681.140(f).
- The retreat
- Stays open. It is for interns, associates and licensed therapists, and depletion does not stop at licensure.
How to apply
- Schedule the free thirty-minute consult by Zoom or phone. Email info@findingbalancecounselingpllc.com.
- Send your CV or resume and three professional references, along with your answers to the questions below.
- Verification, then signing. References and site verification are required before a supervision agreement is signed.
- The Supervisory Agreement Form is filed before supervision starts. It is one of the deadlines associates most often miss, and it is handled here rather than left to you to remember.

Why three individual plus one group: Texas asks for at least four supervision hours a month, and no more than half of them may be group. Three and one is exactly four, with group at a quarter of the total.
That meets the floor rather than clearing it, so a missed session is made up inside the same month rather than absorbed. The rules are laid out in full in the licensure guide.
LPC supervision questions
How much does LPC supervision cost in Texas with Reem Glasco?
Supervision is $425 a month, which covers three individual supervision hours and one group hour. Associates working inside an agency or group practice can arrange a three-month contract at $500 a month. Optional equine-assisted sessions are $60 each.
How many supervision hours do I get each month?
Four: three individual hours and one group hour, based on a caseload of ten or more clients a week. If your caseload or board requirements differ, raise it in the consult and we will plan the cadence together.
Is supervision online or in person?
Supervision is online only, which means any LPC Associate licensed in Texas can work with Reem regardless of where in the state they live. The optional equine sessions and the annual retreat are the in-person exceptions.
Are there supervision openings right now?
Ask about current availability. Because supervision is capped deliberately, it is worth booking a consult before a spot opens rather than after.
Do you provide a placement site for supervisees?
Yes, online only. Site verification is part of the application process, so the placement details are confirmed before any agreement is signed.
Does supervision include EMDR consultation?
Yes. Reem is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and offers free individual EMDR consults to her own associates. Paid consultation toward EMDR certification is available separately to therapists who are not supervisees.
What does Reem expect from a supervisee?
Show up prepared, be honest, and communicate when something goes wrong. Supervision works when the hard material arrives in the room rather than getting managed outside it.
What is equine-assisted supervision?
Optional in-person sessions with horses near Dripping Springs, Texas, at $60 each. Horses respond to what your nervous system is doing rather than what you intend, which makes them an unusually direct teacher of presence and of your own countertransference. Training for therapists working with horses is also available for an additional fee.
How can I learn more?
The frequently asked questions page collects everything that is not specific to one service: fees and insurance, how the methods differ, complex PTSD, what Texas requires of a counselor, and how to start. If the answer is not there either, a free consult is the quickest way to get one.
