Trauma, anxiety and depression therapy in Texas
Something that used to be manageable has stopped being manageable, or the thing that helped before has stopped helping. You do not have to work out which of the paths below is yours before you make contact, and once you start, the work moves at a pace you can actually hold.
What brings you?
Anxiety and panic
Generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, and a body that stays braced when nothing is happening.
Depression and flatness
Numbness, procrastination that does not respond to discipline, and a sense that something is off you cannot point at.
Trauma and C-PTSD
Developmental trauma, complex PTSD, and EMDR that has stalled before. NARM, Somatic Experiencing and IFS-informed EMDR.
Equine-assisted therapy
Sessions with the horses near Dripping Springs. What the body does around a thousand-pound animal that notices everything, and what that shows you. $185 to $240 for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Walk and talk therapy
Outside, side by side rather than across a room. Fridays in central Texas, adults only, $125 an hour.
How the methods work
IFS-informed EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and NARM in plain language, and how they fit together. For anyone who wants the clinical picture before choosing a starting point.
Four methods, interlocking
Not four alternatives to choose between. They run together, and which one leads on a given day is a clinical decision rather than something you pick in advance.
NARM
Asks what pattern is running, where it was learned, and what choice you have once you can see it happening rather than only feel it.
Somatic Experiencing
Sets the pace your nervous system can hold: shock trauma met a little at a time, building your window of tolerance rather than testing it.
EMDR
Finishes processing what got stored raw, with stabilization first. What it involves, who it suits, and what is usually behind it when it has stalled before.
IFS-informed EMDR
Where most of the work here happens. The protective parts of you are consulted before anything is processed, and most of the emphasis sits in that preparation.
Who this is for
Adults and young adults, including college-age clients; the practice does not work with young children. Reem Glasco, LPC-S, sees a small number of them for developmental trauma, C-PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, depression and procrastination. Sessions are 50 minutes, self-pay, online anywhere in Texas, with Blue Cross Blue Shield accepted. Because her caseload is limited by her supervision and consultation work, most new clients are seen by the practice's LPC Associates, who have openings including at sliding-scale fees.
Alongside the paths above, people come here for life transitions, graduating, leaving, arriving, becoming a parent, losing someone, and for self care for mothers, which usually starts with permission.
Trail walk, movement and equine sessions are for adults only, in person in central Texas, and need a consult plus one to three online sessions first, so we know each other before we are outside.
The paths overlap a great deal, and the consult is where the starting point gets chosen.
Reem or one of the associates?
Most new clients start with one of the practice's six LPC Associates. Each brings their own training, listed on their card, and each is supervised by Reem, four hours a month, so a second experienced clinician is thinking about your case. Fees are lower and openings sooner. Reem keeps a small caseload alongside supervising and consulting, so her own openings are limited; what differs is the fee, the calendar and the years.
Working with Reem
$240 for 50 minutes self-pay, online across Texas. Limited openings. Best fit for complex developmental trauma and stalled EMDR.
Working with an associate
Six LPC Associates, $100 to $150 a session with sliding-scale places, and sooner availability. Supervised by Reem, so the clinical approach is the same lineage.

Common questions about therapy here
How much does a therapy session cost?
$240 for a 50-minute online session with Reem, self-pay. Trail walk and movement sessions are $125 for an hour. The practice's LPC Associates see clients at lower fees, including sliding scale, and usually sooner.
Do you take insurance?
Blue Cross Blue Shield is accepted. Sessions under any other plan are self-pay, by major credit card. If you plan to seek out-of-network reimbursement from another insurer, raise it in the consult so you know what documentation to expect.
Is therapy in person or online?
Online across Texas is the default. In person means trail walk and movement therapy on Fridays, or equine sessions near Dripping Springs, both for adults, both after a consult and one to three online sessions.
What happens in a first session?
Mostly orientation: what brought you, what you want different, what your nervous system does under stress, and how we will pace the work. Nothing about trauma gets opened faster than you can stay present for.
Which page should I read?
Start with whichever of trauma, anxiety, depression or walk and talk sounds most like your week. They overlap a great deal, and you do not have to sort yourself correctly before a consult. The approach page explains the methods that run through all of them.
What if I need help sooner than you have openings?
Ask about the associates, who generally have availability sooner and lower fees. If neither fits, Reem will refer you out rather than leave you on a waitlist. In the meantime, Effort-less Self-Care is the between-sessions version of this work and you can start it tonight. If you are in immediate danger, call 911; for a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
How can I learn more?
The frequently asked questions page collects everything that is not specific to one service: fees and insurance, how the methods differ, complex PTSD, what Texas requires of a counselor, and how to start. If the answer is not there either, a free consult is the quickest way to get one.

Therapy consults are fifteen minutes. Supervision and EMDR consultation consults are thirty. Both are free and commit you to nothing.
